1. Overview

Lazarus Vault ("we", "us", "our") operates a secure legacy delivery service. We take your privacy seriously and design every aspect of our service to minimize the data we collect and maximize the security of what we hold.

2. What Data We Collect

  • Account information: Your email address, name (optional), and password (stored as a one-way hash).
  • Vault contents: Files and messages you upload, stored in encrypted form.
  • Recipient information: Email addresses and names of people you designate to receive your messages.
  • Check-in data: Records of check-in emails sent and your responses.
  • Payment information: Processed through Stripe — we do not store your credit card number.
  • Technical data: IP addresses for security logging, browser type for compatibility.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All files and messages are encrypted using AES-256-CBC encryption with a per-client key. Each client's key is encrypted by a master key stored in a configuration file separate from the database. Your vault is completely separate from every other client's vault.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To send check-in emails on your chosen schedule.
  • To deliver your messages and files to your designated recipients if your trigger fires.
  • To process subscription payments through Stripe.
  • To provide customer support when you contact us.
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse.

5. What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
  • We do not use your data for advertising.
  • We do not analyze the contents of your files or messages.
  • We do not share your information with social media platforms.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your files, messages, and personal data are permanently deleted within 30 days. If your trigger fires, your data is retained indefinitely to maintain recipient access links.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, download, modify, or delete your data at any time through your dashboard. You can also export all your data by downloading your files and copying your messages.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption, secure session management, CSRF protection, and server-side access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. We recommend using a strong, unique password and keeping your email account secure.

9. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
